Many people think that collecting brochures is the way to start looking for a new bathroom. A branded brochure may help the manufacturers sell products, but they rarely demonstrate how to create an inspiring space.

I find that people ask for brochures, but really what they want is a new bathroom they can be proud of. The available range of choices is so vast that it can be very daunting to know what will give the desired effect, even if you have a clear idea of the style you want.

Bathrooms are very personal places, but often they’re seen as plumbing, rather than design projects. When you start to investigate your options, you find an over-whelming choice, leaving you more dazed and confused than when you started.

As with any other interior design, it’s the walls you see first. They set the style and ambience of the room, yet so often people will leave them till the last consideration when planning a bathroom, often considering the tiles as an add on to the main purchases.
